How Vela QR handles information

This page describes the current static version of Vela QR. It is not a promise that future third-party services will have the same data practices.

Current practices

QR content is processed in your browser

The text, URL, Wi-Fi details, contact information, or email data you enter is used by the page in your browser to create the QR code. Vela QR's current static site has no backend that receives or stores that QR content.

Theme preference may use localStorage

If you switch the light/dark theme, the site may save that preference in your browser's localStorage under the key velaqr-theme. This is a browser setting, not an account profile or server-side record.

The QR library loads from jsDelivr

The generator loads its QR library from jsDelivr, a third-party content delivery network. Loading those scripts causes your browser to make a network request to jsDelivr. The QR payload is processed in the browser and is not included in that library request. jsDelivr may receive ordinary request and technical information under its own policies.

Monitoring and advertising

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights

Vela QR uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits, referrers, device categories, and broad geographic information. The Speed Insights integration is prepared in the site and will measure real-user page performance when enabled for this Vercel project. Vercel describes Web Analytics as anonymized and cookie-free. The site sends only coarse workflow events such as the selected QR mode, generation, copy, and PNG download. QR payloads, URLs, email addresses, contact fields, Wi-Fi details, and filenames are not sent to analytics.

No advertising or advertising cookies in this version

The current version does not connect to a real advertising provider or advertising cookies. If advertising is added later, this page will be updated with the vendors, data uses, and applicable choices before the ads are enabled.
